Utility pole in footbridge in Sattahip district finally removed

Workers from the local electricity authority and a construction company removed a utility pole from a footbridge under construction today (Saturday), in front of a shopping mall in the Sattahip district of Thailand’s Chon Buri province.

 

The workers used a concrete cutting saw to cut the pole at its base and a crane was employed to lift the pole from the footbridge. The work took about three hours.

 

Officials said that workers will now remove all the cables from the pedestrian bridge, which is expected to be completed and reopened to the public in March or April.

What a shame!  It could have become a tourist attraction as farangs queued to photograph this monument to Thai ineptitude.

What a waste of money, if they planned the overpass before building, then they could've moved it to a different location.

I thought that was the stairway that Thai astronauts would use to board the rocket for the Thai space program.

It should be moved to a museum so future generations of Thai's can see how well the country has progressed.  ????

If it only took 3 hours why wasn't it done on day one?

Had a similar thing just up the road from our home during an intersection makeover. 4 poles had to be relocated, contrary to Thai organisation the whole thing was choreographed well, we only lost power and wifi for about 6 hours.

in this lower level work they have no idea about planning, only big building-companies do!

planning is farang-style! ????
