Popular Post Bkk Brian
Thailand now one of the few countries in the world that does nor have a daily covid dashboard updating its statistics on tests, atk etc PCR test positive cases, total of 2.927 official new infections. 18 official covid deaths recorded. Rapid tests dashboard has still not been updated https://ddc.moph.go.th/covid19-dashboard/ Rolling 7 day average chart (up to 1st Jan) https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus/country/thailand
Popular Post ThailandRyan
There you have it, the cases are staying in a pattern for the past 5 days instead if seeing any increase from Omicron as seen in other countries. I suspected we would see this today. I hope, seriously hope we do not see a numbers dump tomorrow. I am positive that if they were showing the ATK test positives we would be seeing a very sharp upward climb. Popular Post Bkk Brian
Here we go, what are they shutting schools for if the numbers are so low? About time the government makes a public announcement instead of ducking this serious threat to all sectors. Popular Post Bkk Brian
Here is the IHME model on the true number of infections in Thailand. It last updated on the 13th Dec. dinsdale
I've seen reports of Omicron being up to 8 times more infectious than Delta. It also has a doubling period of 2-3 days. Seems Thailand, according to the numbers, is quite different to other countries experiencing Omicron. Absolute paucity of testing and now hiding ATK numbers (after of course hiding testing numbers) may have some play in this. From day 1 I have never believed the numbers. Worth a look is Campbell's latest video "Omicron is displacing delta science."
Popular Post ThailandRyan
New TAT promotion just shown on TNN 16. It's called Amazin Thailand, Amazing New Chapters A-Z. https://www.tourismthailand.org › a... Amazing Thailand, Amazing New Chapters. That will bring in the tourists inspite of the Quarantine related Covid entry requirements. Wonder if the Amazing Chapters would be the Covid testing, reporting and the ATK testing stats book. Popular Post Petey11
Unbelievable, I'm speechless, a miracle has occurred, Thailand has bucked the trend seen in every other country that has had Omicron variant appear. Anutin must be over the moon that his prediction seems to coming to fruition. They need to get TAT involved and market whatever they are doing to the world. Even Prayut said they were going to build on the achievements of the last year and they have started in fine glory. All praise the Thai government, they surely must be re-elected when the time comes to vote with achievements like this. And yes I'm been sarcastic AF. Unbelievable is the most suitable word I can think of. Anyone with connections to Thailand knows what the story is on the ground and those that think everything published must be correct as far as cases are concerned must be wearing dark rose tinted glasses. 3

Ditto on that. I'm in the same position, daughters school due back wed, is they decide to close that while keeping bars, restaurants and venues open here in Phuket then it shows their utter lack of any sense of logic, let alone the needs of the kids and older students who are critical levels in their education for progression into Uni. Government schools in Phuket have not done so well, many still operating on alternate days, its mainly the International Schools that have been open fully. That said all schools here were closed for long periods of time last year. However I note in a separate OP that you were fine with your school closure as it gives you more free time.
