snoop1130
Tourists entering Thailand on a “Thailand Pass”, granted under the minimal quarantine “Test and Go” program, may do so until January 15th, instead of January 10th, but new applications for the “Thailand Pass” will remain suspended until further notice, according to the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) today (Friday). The entry ban by arrivals from 8 African countries, due to the initial Omicron variant spread there, has been lifted and they will now be treated like other arrivals. For pubs and bars in the eight tourist “sandbox” provinces, they can open as restaurants and sell alcohol like other eateries in the zone, if they seek permission from authorities by January 15th. In the rest of the country, these nightlife venues will remain closed beyond the previously planned reopening date of January 16th. Popular Post ThailandRyan
So how does one enter the country. Are they reinstating the COE program? Or is the Thai Pass open for AQ and Phuket Sandbox.

Popular Post RemyDog
I received my Thailand Pass earlier this week, within 80 minutes of completing the online application lodgement process. This was a great relief as the application acknowledgement quoted 3-7 working days as a turn around time and I was booked for a flight to BKK (Vancouver via Seoul to Bangkok) in 3 working days time. My AQ quarantine is at Pattaya in a SHA++ hotel for 7 nights and all is confirmed including negative PCR test result. The AQ locations are not limited to BKK. My first preference was the Phuket sandbox but that fell over because to transit through Singapore (SIN), Singapore Govt requires that you must arrive and depart from in transit at SIN on Singapore AIrline flights - my proposed inward flight from Canada was not on Singapore Airlines (protective trade barriers are alive and well!!). Cheers for now and have fun.

So in essence they should be modifying the Test N Go approval to give the individuals the option of converting to a 7 day AQ where they had been doing the 1 day at or booking another facility for the 7 days if they booked the local 1 start SHA++. Lets see what the actual wording in the Royal Gazette says as the MFA and TAT are still at Odds with Anutin on this and we do not know if the 15th is set in stone. Easy for me if they would allow a conversion to 7 day AQ with just showing a new booking or in my case a conversion at my Hotel I had booked. I don't mind doing 7 days at the Banyan tree in a large suite with a view. Hell if they would allow me to isolate at my own residence that would be very nice, but then that will never happen. I do wonder about all of the Thai folks in the US I know that were flying back for 2 weeks over Chinese New Years to be with family. This will in essence kill their trips. Anyone who reads this latest Gem from TAT , "webversion | Thailand reopens 3 more Sandbox destinations from 11 January 2022" seriously needs to seek professional help if they considered going to Thailand for a holiday. What is this all out focus on Alcohol? Corruption is ok, riding scooters dangerously is ok, maintaining a high death toll on the roads is ok along with not wearing masks in Bangla Rd Patong beach in the evening as displayed in numerous online videos but having a beer is so bad... Popular Post shackleton
Thailand is more dependent on local tourism hence the extended holidays According to reports the hotels in Pattaya plus other areas do okay We have just returned from Hua Hin the hotel we were staying in was okay over the Christmas and New Year period plenty of people there When we departed on the 5th January there was only 4 rooms with people in including our 2 rooms The person at the reception desk mentioned there was no forward bookings so when the current 2 rooms are vacated they will close down

Sheryl
RT @ThaiNewsReports ·The CCSA has just confirmed that although new registrations for Test & Go remain suspended, travellers who have already been approved can enter #Thailand according to the conditions and on the date they requested, until this order changes. There is NO cut off date I have no idea if the above is accurate. But certainly it is far from clear that there is a cut off date for entry by people already holding an approved T&G pass. 1

According to this from the Thai Consulate in New York there is no cut off date. Confusion still reigns. The Royal Thai Consulate General in New York posted the latest on travelling to Thailand on Saturday. Those who obtained the Thailand Pass for the Test & Go scheme by registering before December 22 will be qualified for a one-day quarantine provided their Covid-19 test is negative upon arrival. There is no restriction on the date of arrival. https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40010852

Thai Pass is still open, just the new applications for Test N Go were suspended and that is still on hold. They are still dealing with what to do with those approved to return under that scheme as to whether to cap a return as many say is January 15th, or as TAT and the MFA want those to still arrive as scheduled. We must just wait and see what gets printed in the Gazette. Edited January 8, 2022 by ThailandRyan
