webfact
Picture: Sanook Sanook reporters went to investigate after a female trader and her mum fell foul of a nasty trickster. Jutamas, 25, said she and her mum ran a "joke" (rice congee with egg) stall with a toast sideline out front of their shop. Jaruwan, 50 was on duty selling the toast when a man in red shorts, white shirt and black mask arrived to buy two pieces of toast at 10 baht a time. He paid with a one hundred baht note then said he'd come and pick up the toast in a minute. He then disappeared with the 80 baht change. But when Jutamas checked the till she realised that the note was in fact just half - it had been torn right down the middle. Its number was 3H9976288. She wasn't sure at first if it was deliberate but after posting on Facebook she was positive. Other traders in the MuangThong Thani area reported falling foul of the same guy in the same manner. He'd struck at a shop in the Cosmo gas station, with a garland seller and a fruit trader. Jutamas said she hadn't filed a police report as it was a small amount of money but she warned others to be on the lookout. In a reference to a famous pandemic campaign in which Thais just pay half called "khon la khreung" she said: "Don't go halves with us in this manner".
