Accident Helicopter Crash in Prachuap Khiri Khan
"Old" is not an issue in commercial aviation. I've flown 90-year old aircraft, happy in the knowledge that they will perform just like they did when they left the factory all those years ago. All the major components of a commercial aircraft have a strict service life determined by the manufacturer, following which they are replaced with new or as-new reconditioned items. Helicopter, in particular, can be reconditioned back to new when the service life of the major components has been used up but nearly every significant component is replaced with something that has "zero hours" so it is very expensive. In this example of a Bell 212: - the turbine engines (the ubiquitous and reliable PT6) have a major inspection at 2000-2500 hours and are replaced at 4000-5000 hours - the main rotor blades are replacd at 10,000 - 20,000 hours, depending on construction materials (aluminium, carbon fibre) and specific serial numbers - the tail rotor blades have the same service life as the main rotor blades - the main transmission and tail rotor gearbox is replaced at 3,000 - 4,000 hours The range of time allowed is entirely dependent on condition of the component at a major inspection. It may be allowed to continue a little longer, or it may be replaced at that point. All this assumes the aircraft is maintained according to the manufacturer's service schedule. Mistakes or neglect are frequently the cause of aircraft issues. Let's wait for the official report. -

First UK Passport for Thai/English daughter
I'm US with a daughter here and I am not sure if there is any different requirements but did you do or is that necessary under UK rules - a consular overseas birth certificate which is also what I needed to get her a US passport? -
