Renewing ID card and passport for Thai National in Indonesia

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Hoping someone can help with with my query.

Myself and the Thai wife have been 'stranded' in Bali for the last 2 years because of you know what and in that time her ID card has expired (by 2 months) and her passport expires in September 2022 (which we need to renew in order to get a new onshore visa here (6 months validity)

Has anyone ever done this in Indonesia and can provide any pointers?  I can't really work out what's required by looking at the Thai embassy website

Any feedback would be much appreciated, we're in Bali if that makes any difference

Regards

Richie

I think your wife needs to contact the embassy and talk to them. On the embassy's passport page, it states that to obtain a new passport the ID card must be valid.

In addition, the page about ID cards states that they will only be issued to Indonesian residents:

However, every case is decided on an individual basis, so your wife really needs to contact the embassy and find out her next steps.
