elgenon
I want to send money to a couple of Thai friends that I've known for years. I haven't sent money to Thailand in many years and, from what I can gather on this site, Transferwise is the best way to send about $100. Yes, I know what I am doing and am not crazy. Well, maybe a little. But that's needed in today's world. I am asking because I would imagine things may have changed with the Covid thing. Up-to-date instructions and tips would be appreciated. What do they need to do to get the money? What do they need to tell me? Kawp khun krup.

Chris.B
For the small amount mentioned, Western Union would be appropriate.

And that is the first job to do. Setup an account. Do you plan to use it repeatedly in the future? Otherwise I might be questionable to go through account setup (load up ID, proof of address) just for a single use of $100.

For this they need to verify your Identity with Passport Etc The full procedures are on the " Wise " Website.

elgenon
I should ask everyone for their idea of the best way to send $100 each to two people. Thanks for the insight.

I'm happy with Wise which I use for all international transfers and foreign payments. But if you only need to do a couple of one off payments the need to create an account and confirm ID with Wise may be more than you wish to do. lkn
Go with Wise: I don’t think they will do full account verification if you only send $100 once, at least that was the experience of both myself and a friend, when we first used it. But account verification is taking a photo and a selfie or so, and then waiting a few hours, not that hard.

One Baht less per Euro WU only if there is no other option. Edited February 16, 2022 by KhunBENQ
