wow 30% increase in cases from a week ago

Surprised?

Omicron flooding like in many other countries.

Better think why the numbers are so low and where they will peak.

Daily: 250k in Germany, 400k in France, ...

UK is currently about 40k odd a day and we are getting on with life and restrictions going, Thailand appears not to want to get back to normal life. Any disease that kills less daily than a normal day on the roads really should not be classified as a pandemic illness and really should be ignored

Not rocket science. They mentioned something like 200 odd cases discovered by 'mass testing' in a day, so they probably tested, say, a thousand people for Covid - what a joke!

The others were detected at hospitals, that is people who really felt sick and sought medical attention. With most people exhibiting minor or no symptoms with Omicron, one can presume that the real numbers are more in the 100s of thousands, rather than just 16-18,000...

Which is precisely what makes your 5th day Test&go more of a "suck it and see" lottery !

True, but as one poster has already said, it is a cash cow for this unelected soldier posing as a PM and the rest of the Junta.

COVID fatalities are comparable to road accident fatalities.

Traffic fatalities are not contagious and don't grow exponentially.

COVID is and does, unless restrained by effective vaccinations and social measures.

Thailand got up to more than 300 COVID deaths a day last August, six times the daily rate of average road deaths.  But months before in June, those daily numbers were in the teens, 20s and 30s, just like now.

A week ago the UK was at about 65,000-70,000 /day..... it is where the numbers are going that is important. UK waited until the numbers were turning downwards to loosen things.... hardly surprises me Thailand is waiting for that to happen too.
