Pattaya Car Mechanic recommendation please for Electrical Problem

 

need someone competent to troubleshoot a car battery draining from unknown source

If it's a computer controlled car you probably need to go to a garage with the proper diagnostic equipment.

You don't want some learned on the job guy tinkering with the computer.

I would take to the manufacturers official service garage.

I only have minor work such as brake replacement and oil changes etc done elsewhere.

New car? Take to the dealer's service center.

 

Old car? There's several larger car service centers along Sukhumvit, here's one for example;

If you have a multi-metre at home this can help you find the "circuit" that's draining your battery.

Follow the steps in the video.. quite simple.

Then if you can't fix the circuit yourself you can rake it to a garage with the knowledge of where the problem is, thus saving them time & you money.

Perhaps it's not a circuit draining the battery, it's the alternator not charging the battery.

yes maybe better than any local, but he usually works on nice cars I think ?

Easy test, run car then lift the positive lead off battery, if car stops alternator is not working.

I can't help with recommendations . Make sure the battery isn't bad. Three months after installing a new one the car wouldn't start so took it back to the shop to have it recharged. they checked it and said it was fine. Worked one time and then the next day dead again , went back to the shop Oh problem with your car , battery fine. Went to a different shop new battery installed and no more problems. If you have time you can do some simple checks. If the battery takes a charge , disconnect the battery overnight. Is the battery still working? if not bad battery. If it works check the charging system as above, carefully. To zone in on a draining problem pull half the fuses then the other half. Check all lights in hidden places ie glove box ,trunk and hood.

Many sell reconditioned xhit batteries. You have been scammed I think.

That's a basic test, but if the alternator on the way out, not completely dead, the car will still run.  It really needs a meter on it to see what it is generating.  

 

Who knows, might be just a simple fix of a new drive belt.
