Grateful for some clarification re the following:

Current extension visa stamp on passport due to expire mid-March

New UK passport issued so must apply for retirement visa extension. 

1.  What docs do I need to take to Immigration for new extension apart from the usual ie Form, Bank letter and statement, copies of passport ID page, TM6 and current extension stamp?

2.  Do I need to get a letter/doc from VFS re passport renewal?

3.  How soon can I apply for the extension?  Going to CW so will apply for online appt.

VFS provide the form to "ask" immigration to transfer the stamps to new passport. Usually when you get your new passport.

2.  If you renewed via VFS they should have given you the Embassy letter/template with your new passport.  If they did not then you can request one from the Embassy and they will post it to you.

 

Transferring your Thai visa after renewing your British passport

This service is available in person at VFS Bangkok or online and is free of charge.

The Immigration Bureau in Thailand may require a letter from the British Embassy in order for you to transfer your visa from your old to your new British passport.

1. VFS Bangkok will give you a template letter when you collect your new passport from their office. Alternatively the British Embassy Bangkok can post a template letter to you at an address in Thailand. To request this service send a message via our online contact form, giving the reason for your request along with your name and address.

2. Add your personal details by hand and submit the completed letter to the Immigration Bureau along with your passport(s).

1.  You will need a copy you new passport photo page. Copied of you old passport pages as well that are needed to the extension. You will need this form completed: Transfer Stamps To A New Passport

2. They give you one when you pick up your new passport at VFS.

3. You could apply for your new extension now.

Copies of the extension stamp in old passport only relate to latest extension due to expire mid-March. Correct?
