A trip out to buy some fancy fish turned into a drama for a father in Had Yai, southern Thailand.

The dad had his son in a car seat and had been going to several shops when he decided to visit another and left his one year old boy in the van.

Oops. He left his remote control key in there too and the van promptly locked automatically, reported Thai Rath.

Mitraphap Samakhee rescue services were called to Dungphakdee Soi 3 and had the van opened in five minutes.

The drama unfolded in the heat of the day at 12.30 yesterday.

If the aircon and engine were not running I wouldn't leave any living thing in a car/van for even a second.....never mind a child as I just 'nip' into a shop.

There is a faster option but that entails buying a new window.
