hapark
When transfer existing visa and 12 month extension to new passport, can re-entry stamp from old passport be transferred or used as well? Or is it required to pay for new reentry permit with new passport? Thanks for advice
Popular Post BritTim
You cannot transfer the re-entry permit to a new passport, but (like visas) re-entry permits in an old passport can continue to be used in conjunction with your new passport.
Popular Post ubonjoe
Some offices will transfer a re-entry permit to a new passport if they issued it. If not there is no need to get a new one since you can use the one in your old passport by showing both passports on entry to the country.
DrJack54
OP, be aware that reentry permit will only be transfered where it was issued. I always obtain mine at airport. When I last had stamps transferred at CW the reentry permit desk told me to go to DMK (where it was issued). I just traveled with both passports for 6 months no problem..
Popular Post CMBob
When I had stamps transferred to a new passport in 2017, Chiangmai Immigration transferred both my annual extension based on retirement and my re-entry permit. I obtained the re-entry permit at Chiangmai Immigration.
brewsterbudgen
I had my re-entry permit transferred to my new passport at Chaengwattana (where it was issued). It had to be done at the Re-entry Permit section (C) after my Extension stamp had been transferred.
cardinalblue
The short answer is you don’t have to as the stamp is still good in your old passport… that means immigration must stamp to cancel/used the re-entry in the old and put your arrival/entry stamp in the new one…. Some offices will transfer the re-entry permit to the new passport, as confirmed by UJ. Buriram is one such office that does this (they did for me anyway)
