Images Of Samui, Phangan And Tao

Featured Replies

Looking at other forums I notice a lot have "pinned" images of their area. I believe this section would be useful for anybody seeking info about the Island
What are your thoughts?
Maybe we could all add our favourite shots?
Perhaps a moderator could consider pinning?
Anyway, here's my 50 cents worth to kick it off.

1)Chaweng Cove 2) Bangrak 3) Wat Pla Leam

I am up for it if people are willing to contribute. But can we make it forum specific instead of Samui specific? ie images of Samui, Phangan and Tao? And make sure to name your location. Here's my contribution to the effort:

Very advantageous position - you the pilot or a hi-jacker?

Right place - right time!

I have a few aerials of KS and KP if anyone is interested in me posting them.

Not too many as there was a bit of vibration so only some came out clearly.

Bangrak - Bophut - Chaweng -

Would love to see them

Aren't you the brave one Jimbo :o

Not quite sure what you mean by that sbk.

Nothing brave or daring there - safe and sound on a boat.

Lets just say that people who get to close to the island can find themselves in extreme danger.

Yes indeed.

Jimbo,

Is that Koh Haa, in the south of Samui or Koh Tae Nok opposite KP (North West)? The latter one may be the one SBK is referring to.

sbk - educate me please - I always thought sailing round these islands was a regular tourist thing. We were on a large boat with 30-40 other people and a Thai crew, so I am not sure why we were in danger.

limbos - these are the Five Island off Talling Ngam. The names on my map are Ko Thalu; Ko Din; Ko Chet Mun; Ko Mae Thap and Ko Malaeng Pong.

Ko Tae Nok is north of Samui near to Koh Phangan, according to my map anyway, and we were nowhere near there.

Ko Haa is not on my map so I am not sure exactly where that would be.

Sorry, my mistake I thought it was Koh Tae Nok. It is legal to sail around the island, but get too close and you may find yourself on the business end of a firearm. They take poaching of the birds nests very seriously as they pay huge concessions to harvest them.

Anyway, sorry to hijack the images thread. Thanks for identifying the island in question :o

So instead, I will add one of my own photos. Thunderhead over Samui

Jimbo,

That's the islands I meant, one fo them they may locally be referred to as Koh Ha (siland five).

Koh Tae Nok is as SBK describes, I've been diving there a lot in the bay, with bad weather, we use(d) it as an alternate dive site, but the guys on the beach do have guns and sometimes let them rip!
