even in bulk at Makro, they already raise the price like month ago, now pretending to cap, they are all in it together pretending they helping the people.

Bananas 89 Baht; street side 35 Baht
Eggs 114 Baht (30 eggs, size 3-4); outside vendor 98 Baht (30 eggs, size 2-3)
Local salads (Royal Project/Hydroponics) upto 176 Baht per kilogramme (increased by 35%) 
Capsicum anything between 115 - 137 Baht (increased by 15 - 37%)
etc. etc. etc. 

Nobody needs cheaper fans but the daily groceries are what count. But, in all fairness, it needs to mentioned that fresh markets (in Nong Khai) skyrocket pricing of i.e. potatoes to 60 Baht/kg while Makro is selling them at 39 Baht/kg.

Yes I am so grateful to the Thai govt for capping prices to ease my living costs as my electric bill only increased by 300 baht this month lol!   And as Mrs Felix so rightly pointed out, you never see these increases go back down when the fuel prices drop again.......but then Thailand is not on its own there.

It's sometimes an honest mistake. I paid 3 times the price of eggplants in a Western country because the cashier was new and she didn't know there was a difference in price between the ones I was buying and a different variety.

Whole wheat bread in Big C , it had just gone up not long ago

to 22 THB , last Friday now 27 THB , in % thats a big jump.

Covid was to blame for price increases , now it's Russian

aggression. and if everything does return to some normalcy 

the prices won't come down.

Makro bakery staff told me that their bread contains sugar in their flour. I prefer the non-sugar bread.

 

What about Big C?

Tastes OK to me, not a lot of whole wheat in it though , I though bread would

have to  have some sugar in it to feed the yeast , to produce Co2 to make the

bread rise,  some Thai bread products do have a lot more sugar in them.

A lot of sugar in everything here even pizza!  Thats why it has one of the highest rates of diabetes in the world (although sticky rice is also a culprit).
