Popular Post snoop1130 Posted March 23, 2022 Popular Post Share Posted March 23, 2022 The government has released a new song, being distributed on CDs, to spread awareness of and to warn the public about falling victim to call centre scams, which are widespread in Thailand. The move has, however, been met with some ridicule online, with netizens taking to Twitter to question whether anyone still uses CDs, when songs can be downloaded via various apps. Members of the Justice Ministry, led by its minister Somsak Thepsuthin and a group of Thai artists who participated in the project, met with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday (Tuesday) to promote their new song. The video is PAINFUL, gotta feel for the actors/singers, what an embarrassment. Call centers proliferate here because of cooperation of the authorities. They should have contacted you and myself, I also have a good supply of useless blanks CD and DVD's, they could also given them my extensive library of music, they could also give a few of these as consolation prizes. samtam Posted March 24, 2022 Share Posted March 24, 2022 Joking aside, the number of robocalls I receive every day has gone off the charts (no pun intended). Quite often the incoming call number is prefixed by another country's IDD number, like these "from Australia". Anyway, no surprise that this has occurred after we all submitted our mobile numbers multiple times for vaccinations etc. Clearly a marketing and sales opportunity that could not be passed up.
