As Asia continues to reopen, country by country, the latest to roll back restrictions is Cambodia which just opened to fully vaccinated international travelers without a quarantine or entry PCR/antigen test. As travelers commit to bucket list trips they’ve missed over the last two years, this country should be a top destination as the home of one of the world’s most iconic sights, the massive 12th century temple complex of Angkor Wat. And with tourism just starting to trickle back in, it’s possible to experience this landmark without navigating hordes of other visitors as has been the case in the past. So the time to go is now.

The Explorations Company, which organizes high level, authentic custom trips throughout Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Polar Regions with a portion of the costs devoted to philanthropic endeavors, is currently putting together four-day excursions to Siem Reap, the location of the temples. Extensions are also available onward to other parts of the country.

Among the key arrangements in the company’s plan: check-in at Amansara, Aman’s property on the outskirts of town that was built in the 1960’s to house guests of King Sihanouk.

I went to Siem Reap loads of times, never entered Angkor Wat, $30 to visit a temple in a 3rd world country? they gotta be kidding! Had plenty of 50c beers and $1 cocktails though.

Yes, I think Cambodia is ahead of time whereas countries like Thailand and Malaysia still want PCR test and Covid insurance even when more than 90% (Malaysia) and 70% (Thailand) are fully vaccinated.

This is not an ordinary temple. This is a world class huge temple complex and a UNESCO heritage site.

How much would it cost for you build such a temple in a western country?

$30 is considered cheap.

Why would they be kidding. It´s an amazing experience well worth the 30 dollar it costs. Just, because you rather put your value for money in beer, does not make other things worthless. But, great for you, you got 60 beer more and a nice hang over.

Plenty of free ruined temples to walk around, if you like that sort of thing.

Seen one temple seen e'm all. Went there years ago. Should have stayed home. The prices were rip offs specially for falang.

If you reside in Thailand, it's not the going that's an issue. It's the returning to Thailand that is a hassle.

Yes, still need Test & Go to return to Thailand.

I was under the impression (maybe wrongly) that arrivals in Cambodia still needed to do one test after arrival, and quarantine if found positive.

I do not think the poster meant he drank the 60 beers in one go....hence a further expense might be necessary to get the hangover ????

And still too cheap to keep the idiots away that climb the statues for their must have selfies, scratch their eternal love vow to the walls or do some permanent marker art.

I can hear that you are a cultural expert. Learned that by looking in the beer glass? Probably works as a crystal ball for you. ????
