Breaking her silence to the media today (Friday), Somporn, mother Thanathorn, leader of the Progressive Movement and former leader of the now-defunct Future Forward Party, said that she was devastated by the Land Department’s order, which has painted her and her family as being forest encroachers, which is a serious charge.

Yeah, it must be terrible to be called what you really are, right? It´s been forest land for over 30 years. The only thing defunct, is in this turds brain.

these land deals seem to get senior folks in a lot of trouble, ie Thaksin for approving his wife's land purchase if I am not mistaken.

Read the story.  She purchased the land from other owners of the property many years ago.  She is not the original owner.   Now, suddenly they decide the land should not have been sold?  After all these years?  So, why aren't they going after the original purchasers?  If anybody is guilty of doing something wrong it is them, not her.  You unknowingly buy a used car that was involved in an unsolved hit and run years ago.  Finally the police trace the car to you.  Should you be guilty of the hit and run or the original driver?   And, again, why her, why now?  Obviously, they are doing anything they possibly can to discredit a rival.  Stinks to high heaven, as my Dad liked to say.

Or another possibility. The land could have been farmland, designated to poor people for free. Then a buy-up was made, where people was taken care of and a certain contact re-made the papers. That´s usually how it works in the shady world.

nor sor 3 kor is a legal title that can be bought or sold legally.  However it is not a full chanote.  The land has not been surveyed by the land department.  So the boundries are not certain.  It is possible to ask the land department to survey it and upgrade it to a regular chanote.

How do you know what is legal or not. Depends on how much money was exchanged when making it. Remember that Thailand only had computer system for about 10 - 15 years.

Do you have any idea where the land is, what it is used for now, what it was used for back in 1978.

There are very few people who knew what was happening in 1978 and in 1984, and I am 100% certain that you are not one of them. Neither am I and I doubt anybody on this forum is either.

You can make up as many theories as you wish, but that is all they are.

Theories and opinions

Yes, it is only theories and opinions. But, as you also are very aware about, most of the rich people in Thailand move the rules and gain opportunities that are not totally lawful. Why in the world would this family be different?

How about because the family bought and paid for the land in 1978.

Six, count them 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 years after they bought the land there was a change of use in 1984, that was 38 years ago.

Yet nothing happened during those 38 years, which was plenty of time for action to be taken.

Yet only now in 2022 has it been discovered, and only now before an election does anything happen.

Don't you think that is a little suspicious, given that Thanathorn was banned from politics over a magazine he supposedly published. but sold his shares before he became a politician?

To me it stinks far worse than Pla Ra and to me the Ministry of Dirty Tricks has been scraping the bottom of every barrel it can find to get rid of Thanathorn and any trace of any political party he even speaks to on the phone, sends an email, mentions on Twitter, etc.

You are doing a fair job of diversion for the government on your own, but I, for one don't believe a word of what you say, opinions or not.

Yes, you are right. It´s a perfect time to dig dirt on the opposition. However, that is what every side and party do all over the world before election.

Not every political side or party does this all over the world. You might believe it but I certainly don't.

Please try to stop diversions and get back to the topic in hand, which, if you had forgotten is about one particular family in Thailand, which is this.

I emboldened the line above.

Yes, @billd766I understand it is your favorites now. Sorry to step on fragile toes. Just wonder why you are so quick to comment and protect them? Do you think you can make a difference? ???? If so, sorry to take you out of the fluffy clouds.

If the real truth comes out and they are guilty I am quite happy to admit that I am wrong.

Sorry, looks like there is already proof of that, or did you miss the original article? ????

No I didn't miss the article. There was an allegation which has yet to go to the courts, but no actual proof.

According to me and what I read, the land is already confiscated, and the only reason this will go to court is if the family are trying to fight it.

So according to you and something you read somewhere, (no links provided), you are correct and everybody else is wrong.
