Perhaps you assume too much.. It may be a case instead of their workers scamming you. I do not put it past anyone to use their position to scam as many people as possible... I recently bought a phone on Lazada Market in their app. It was for an original and even claimed to have manufacturer warranty. When I got the phone it was a copy/fake. The company advertising it sent me messages through the app that if I returned it they would take a long time in deciding to refund the money.. Then they told me to accept 100 baht refund haha.. Again warning me the refund would not be given or would take a long time. They knew what they were doing because as soon as I filed for refund based on a fake product, they removed it from their listing. I contacted Lazada and they said not to worry because Lazada would refund the money to me once the company got their phone back. -

If I have no intention of renewing my visa extension this year, do I still need to do 90 day
Is this how you try to avoid your tax responsibilities? You can't. All stays in one year are combined. -

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
When looking at the news articles that came out when PEA rescinded their 2nd meter policy if using to charge an EV apparently the misuse by some would created problems in what PEA called their "uniformity of their pricing." The misuse would going to cause problems in projecting how much power PEA need to generate, how much fuel to generate that power, how many future power stations to build, power lines to install, their profit margin, etc...etc. It was like the misuse was violating a PEA prime directive, breaking a key PEA commandment, throwing too much electrical usage variability into the mix, etc. And the misuse was apparently was also causing "safety" problems where the 2nd meter was suppose to only be powering an EV home charger but it turns out it was powering shop/factory work along with some unsafe electrical wiring (not PEA approved) which could cause fires. Yes, the PEA is in the business to sell power but they have rules (like them or not) that the electric user must follow like when signing up for an electric meter identifying whether its for residential use or business/factory/shop use which affects PEA pricing, PEA installation approval requirements, etc. Yeap....it was like the misuse was causing electricity pricing and safety problems where one of the root causes could be traced back to a PEA regulation which unintentionally and partially was causing the problems. X-amount of bad apples which misused the 2nd meter program caused the problem. -

Report Diners Stop Customer Trying to Skip VAT at Bangkok Ramen Restaurant
I’d say 90% of the transactions that I carry out in Thailand involve some kind of consumer misrepresentation of some kind or other. There is no effective enforcement of consumer protections, if there even are any, other than raising the profile of scams on media like tik tok. so buyer beware is the only response. -

Renewing my British passport - HMPO totally lost the plot and the I lost the will to live!
Well what a total farce, I to have had similar problems as you , Sent details through an agent , got a message on my phone paperwork incomplete have sent you an email ( did not come to me ) phoned agent did not go to them ? . I then phoned Ukpo to find out was was wrong , gave them all my details , Name , Address , Email , Phone Number , ok we will pass it to the correct department , Waited about 1 week , get sms saying the same thing , Phone again , give all the details again , ok we will chase it up for you , Then got an email , please provide details of all the above again , paperwork incomplete, ( BUT YOU CAN NOT REPLY TO THE EMAIL ) So I completed another application form with all the details on it , all the paperwork attached , quoted Ref number and sent it to them , along with a letter quoting all the details and Ref No . Then got another email from them with a New ref number and stated no payment received ?. Phoned , confirmed payment had been received on original , and would get it transferred to the New application . Then got another email with New Ref No on Stating No Payment received . I then found out that there was a complaints email address , so I used this , About 6 complaints later , after inputting my details , then completing my Complaint again with all the details typed again , I finally got a sms message saying Application Processed , and then another sms your local contact will be in touch to collect passport , No contact from then , but 2 weeks later got a phone call from the agent , they have my New Passport , only took 5 months , 1500 bhat in phone calls . 600 bhat in postage to get it . Why can not people do as Requested in phone calls or in letters , could have been sorted out 2 months earlier, Less hassle for customers and for them , Times this each time for each application and the cost is astronomical. -
