What are you thinking, what's going through your head, do you understand what you are saying?

OMG, wake up

He is a foreigner, he is a visitor.

When you're a visitor you should be on your best behavior, did your parents not teach you right from wrong?

Forget your thoughts they mean nothing.

Exactly "Right from wrong" - there is no race or nationality with that. It simply is what it is.  The issue of theft needs to be addressed across the board, it's wrong no matter who does it.

He shoplifted a "baen" or half bottle of Saengsom worth about 150-160 baht.

CCTV confirmed he was riding a red and black ladies' motorcycle and was wearing a black helmet.

He said that the thieves before were all Thais - now a farang was stealing from them. They never report theft to the police - they can't be bothered with the fuss.

Wiranit told the media he had a message for the foreigner: "You're a farang, living in Thailand. I won't report you but you shouldn't do this".

Mum Thongdaeng was more direct: "Just come back and pay for the booze," she said.

Serious?
Hunt someone for 150 Baht???
Yessss, this is farang,  they never reported to the police all the other theft committed by Thais , but now is different, the public enemy is a foreigner, so they can be bothered with the fuss, they can even pay the "booze" for the dangerous criminal farang!!!
I recommend a reward: dead or alive.

Until it's a foreigner... but hey stealing is theft.

The guy should be embarrassed at being on CCTV and own up and pay the old lady with a healthy tip.

Earlier in the week mum was in charge of the store that sells mostly alcohol and cigarettes.

But she was sleeping.

I'm sure he will, when there is someone there who is awake to take his money. Who knows, the son might even be there cleaning the filthy place they call a shop but which looks like a rubbish tip.

There is no excusing theft, but the ’son’ also seems somewhat ‘xenophobic' in his actions to ignore theft from Thai’s and then going public when its a foreigner.

It's awful that people will just rip off shops like this where people are struggling to make a living.

Despicable foreigner, but also despicable Thai’s, despicable anyone who would do the same thing.

Zenophobic LOL..Is he ageist too and a fat shamer?

Nothing wrong with fat shaming.  The worlds health industry including Thailands would be a much healthier , cheaper and better system if there weren't so many obese people.  It certainly doesn't happen overnight.

Sounds fair enough to me.

Then deport the scum

Well, I wouldn't lose any sleep if he was. If the bloke is reading here, you are an <deleted> chap, if you can't afford it, give it up, the folk you stole from have to pay for it.......????

There is a very good possibility that the farang picked up the bottle and waited, and waited, and waited to pay, then just said phuck it and left.  That doesn't justify the theft.  But I have certainly been there and done that -- with the waiting game -- not the theft.

Not excusing the despicable behaviour at all, but it didn't warrant him complaining when they were Thais, but now it's a farang?

Hmmm…. A heinous crime, the elderly man should be hung, drawn and quartered. No punishment is too good for this vile, dastardly act. He should be buried and dug up again for further punishment

Go home farang....

And where do we send the Thai that steel? A very discriminating solution. If we would send everybody home (or better out of the country) who did something wrong then Thailand would be empty soon. And so would be Europe or any other country. This is not the way. They should forec the guy to pay with a fine that the next time he will consider paying instantly and not steel anymore. Sending everybody away is not the solution.
