Do you remember yesterdays post on the excess deaths that was posted.  Maybe you can refer back to that to help with your head scratching.  Not every death here in Thailand that occurs at home is checked very closely and or the persons history checked to see if they had been tested for covid, were positive and were self treating at home.  During Delta we had many people die in residences and not at hospitals and until a Doctor actually tested one of the dead did they find out the person had Covid.  Autopsy's are also not routinely performed unless requested and the bodies are quickly cremated by the authorities.

Maybe it's just a difference in treatment protocols and the way statistics are calculated.

 

 

Its just the difference in testing. The UK tests far more so it will have more positive cases and more deaths.

The red text in the bottom right of the graphic says 87 of the 89 new COVID deaths reported today had NOT received their third-dose COVID booster shot.

Most of the UK deaths are unvaccinated people. London, for example, is less than 60% double jabbed.

Interesting graphic today from MoPH... first time I've seen them do this:

 

If I'm translating this correctly, the main part of the graphic below is showing the COVID daily new official case trends in various provinces since the start of the year through April 7.

 

The small map to the left is highlighting the provinces in red that had the most serious COVID hospitalizations, patients with pneumonia type symptoms, from March 28 to April 3.

But UK has had a significant undercount too.

'The proportion of deaths involving COVID-19 where it was also the underlying cause was at its lowest in February 2022 in England

Percentage of deaths involving COVID-19, which were due to COVID-19, England and Wales, deaths registered in March 2020 to February 2022' :Coronavirus (COVID-19) latest insights - Office for National Statistics (ons.gov.uk)

 

Goes on to say: 'The proportion of deaths involving COVID-19, where COVID-19 was the underlying cause, decreased between January 2022 and February 2022 in both England (from 73.7% to 66.0%) and Wales (from 76.2% to 61.7%).'

 

That means 34% were incidental I guess.

The UK has an undercount? Not at all. Its below its 5 year average in deaths. Proof its testing effectively as opposed to Thailand. As @ThailandRyan said, this was pointed out yesterday.

Yes that was posted here a month ago when it was first published and referred to many times since then, maybe you missed it, especially when we've had posters here who always claim the covid deaths here are all due to those with underlying illnesses.
