He said that one of the Thai suspects has been identified by New York police as Suksan Jullanan, who also claimed to be a Thai army general, while General Surayud’s son’s name is Sant Chulanont. Join our daily ASEAN NOW Thailand Newsletter - Click to subscribe He said that the people who disseminated the fake news, due to the close similarity of the two names, intended to link the arms and trafficking gang with General Surayud’s son, to tarnish the reputation of General Surayud. Popular Post Chelseafan
Fake news. First sign of denial. Might be true, might not but time will tell. Doubt it will ever be made public in Thailand if it is true though.

Although I am not a US citizen, I do believe it would already be out. Remember what happened to the Dominique Strauss-Kahn in New York in May 2011 albeit the guy one one of the most powerful man in the world as head of the International Monetary Funds (IMF) and considered to be a leading candidate in the 2012 French presidential election.... mtls2005
Now that we know who these three thai's are not, maybe someone could tell us who they are? One of the three, Suksan Jullanan, is referred to as a dual thai-U.S. citizen. https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/manhattan-us-attorney-announces-arrests-yakuza-leader-and-affiliates-international Say hello to my little friend... Jullanan and Chulanont seem like plausible transliterations for the same thai surname? I've seen Surayud's children (three?) listed with various different first names. 1

fuzziwas
It was not revealed until many years later that the ex agricultural minister had a name change after he was released from an Australian prison for drug related matters . But that was ok .. it happened outside of Thailand...
Popular Post sharecropper
I read about these arrests last week and noticed no Thai coverage - until now. Perhaps the confusion could be cleared up if the REAL son stages a press conference - in Thailand.
