There's no point arguing with these anti-EV people, even when you educate them over their mistakes, they just repeat their baseless opinions somewhere else.  Frankly, it's tiresome.

 

I can't count the number of times I've had to refute claims that they catch fire more than ICE cars, or that the batteries are expected to exceed the life of the car, or that they don't depreciate any more than ICE cars, or that they don't cost a fortune to insure.  The more substantiated data you throw at them, they still don't believe it and push back further.

 

The sad part is, some people who genuinely want to know about EV's and are perhaps considering one, get poisoned by these people.

Indeed - and what is even more entertaining is that there are people so bored in their lives - they spend all day just scouring every nook and cranny all over the Internet to find complaints of customers with Chinese EV's. What I observed is that in general, Thai FB postings are coalescing around negative events - its almost as if the average Joe and Jill in Thailand is searching for others that are worse off to make themselves feel better, also know as "downward social comparison"........lol

I think there is a huge difference between the case in Thailand and the familyguy case in the UK

If you remember familyguy was asked to pay for a full set of replacement batteries for a MG ZS EV 2023 and everything associated with the battery model at a Baht equivalent cost of B1,024.719

In the Thai case  the largest ticket items are the Electrical Distribution Module  B32K , Labor costs for drying and cleaning B2.5K and Change EDM box B2,5K Total cost B36K

It seems that there is a possibility that water can enter through the pressure vapour values

On MG ZS EV Generation 1 2019 it has been reported that some MG owners have had to claim on their car insurance as MG stated that water ingress in battery isn't covered by warranty

If the below is correct, it cost 50,000 baht a month to store a car at the port.

 

There are a lot of them close together, around 10,000 cars, equivalent to an area of about 200,000 hundred thousand square meters. If calculated as rental prices, it's around 80-100 baht per square meter per day. 1 car uses an area of about 15-20 square meters....

The auto industry here is hurting very bad for multiple reasons. The below sums it up well and we will probably see more of the same new in the future. 

 

But the company will save on water costs. Reduced electricity cost.

This part is actually good news "EV Buses totaled 2,527 units, an increase of 31.96%."

When (if) the Chinese add 400,000 EV manufacturing capacity to the mix, the Japanese legacy auto makers will be decimated, but on the bright side tow-truck business will be booming.

I wonder if we're reading the same article?  My translation only mentions Hybrids being Toyota, it doesn't say anything about parts manufacturers turning to hybrids not EV's.

It just mentions Toyota as an example there are many different brands producing hybrid's not just Toyota

with just 10% market share for EV's Parts manufacturers should provide parts for the largest share of the market which is  currently ICE
