Do you mean the BYD Seagull ( called the Dolphin Mini in some markets ) ?

In which case I don’t know, maybe the Motor Show will shed some light on this although the focus will be on Sealion 07 .

Seems like it has been talked about for a while already but who knows maybe it will come, same for the Shark pickup, seems like Thailand has a market for both.

Imported EV pickup trucks no subsidy

Thai locally builtEV  pickup trucks B100K subsidy until the end of 2027

It seems we will only get the 400V version of the BYD Sealion in Thailand too if the DC charging caps at 150 kW. The Thai version of the Geely EX5 also has a lower energy density battery and only 110 kW max charging.

All quite disappointing really...looks like we will have to wait another year for a reasonably priced 800V EV like what is available in China right now.

i just sat in the new byd sealion 07, but i haven’t been able to test drive it yet. since i prefer a more upright seating position because of my back, my head was only about 3 cm from the roof  ! the seating position felt a bit strange and definitely too high for me. i didn’t have this problem with the byd seal. maybe it’s worth waiting for the new 2025 seal or some other models instead ...

Probably due to the different style of seating between a "SUV" type vehicle (like the Sealion 7) which typically offers a higher setting feel compared to a "sedan/saloon" type vehicle (like the Seal) which typically offers a lower setting feel.     What's your approx height?

Did you try a test drive in the BYD M6? It's half the price of my Seal but has 3 rows of seats and is a full EV with LFP and V2L it would make a great second car for us if we didn't already have an MG HS PHEV

I posted about it here:

i'm 183 cm tall, and when the glass roof sunshade is closed, it feels even more cramped.

on bumpy roads at higher speeds, i might have to lower my head a bit ...

i think the main problem isn't my height, it's more because of my unusually upright seating position (my bad again!) ...

thanks for the tip / recommendation. i haven't driven the byd m6 ... we already have two cars, one of which is a fairly spacious, smaller family car ...

that's why the m6 is not an option for us.  i'm also looking for an electric car that offers a bit of driving fun ...

maybe a visit to the motor expo would help a difficult car buyer (like myself) to come closer to a decision ... to buy or to wait a little bit longer

I got plenty of headroom in our MG ZS, although the seat is all the way back, so leg room might not be enough for you.  I sit fairly straight up, especially compared to the wife's seating position.

I'm 177 cm, and leg room is just enough for me.   Don't know about sporty though, but definitely fun.

I wouldn't drive the ICE version like I drive the BEV version, as a bit top heavy.  The battery really makes it more stable when playing.  BEVs are hard to topple over because of the low, heavy, center of gravity.   Definitely fun, but still only 8+ secs to 100 kph.

I usually only drive in 'ECO' mode, 'normal' and especially 'Sport'  mode is definitely noticeably faster.   Really to fast for around town, and I really don't need to get to highway speed that fast anyway.  Without trying, I notice I pull away from everyone at traffic lights, though since I do the speed limit on highways, they eventually pass me :cheesy:

Roomy for a family, even though a small SUV.  No kid now, but we take the whole house with us when O&A 🙄

Seems the cut throat pricing and price war is still in full swing.

Based on BYD's past "limited time only" price reductions/promotions" (which turn out to be much long running promotions or even lower prices) I wouldn't be surprised to see this promotion pricing become the new baseline price after 10 Dec....or another "year end sale" promotion is announced maintaining the price.  Can sure make potential customers gun-shy in buying an EV due to continued price cutting.

i don't think we'll see much more price cuts from byd thailand in the next few months ... this prices are now only slightly higher than in china  ...

Bloomberg reported that China's leading electric carmaker BYD has asked suppliers to accept "further price cuts" next year , a sign that the EV maker is bracing for a more intense price war in 2025 .

A partial screenshot of an email purporting to be from a Shenzhen-based auto giant went viral on social media on Wednesday (Nov 27), demanding a 10% price cut for an unnamed supplier from January, which turned out to be from BYD .

Looks like the Atto promotion/price reduction does "not" include a free wall charger with installation which is worth around Bt25K (or more depending on installation costs).

Who's  to say the pricing in China will not continue to drop which is turn drive continued price cuts outside of China like in Thailand?

And these price's cuts on the BYD Seal are HUGE!!!   If I was a person who bought a Seal over the last few months I would be livid!!!!

Many discounts at the motor expo

And typically price discounts during motor show events also apply at any dealership in the country.....no need to actually attend the motor expo to get the discount.

I have bought a Seal some month ago, but even after another price cut I will keep on sleeping well.

Car trade-in plan deemed insufficient

Industry skeptical that incentives proposed by government will revive slumping auto sales

A government plan to launch a car trade-in programme is meant to revive domestic car sales, but car manufacturers and industry observers say it might not be enough, requesting more new measures to end the long slump.

They are hopeful for improved car sales during the 12-day Thailand International Motor Expo, which starts on Friday.

Industry Minister Akanat Promphan acknowledged automakers’ concerns over the nosedive in domestic sales as he presided at the 41st annual car event, being held at Impact Challenger in Nonthaburi.
