I think that is only for Model Year 2023 (MY23) Seals that are still in stock vs the latest model year MY24/25.  BYD trying to clear out previous year models.

Model Year 2024 are just an extra 50,000 baht.

I'm guessing they have quite a lot of unsold inventory now.

Special price MY23

BYD SEAL Dynamic model (MY23) 949,900 baht

BYD SEAL Premium model (MY23) 1,049,000 baht

BYD SEAL AWD Performance model (MY23) 1,149,000 baht

Special price MY24

BYD SEAL Dynamic model (MY24) 999,900 baht

BYD SEAL Premium model (MY24) 1,099,000 baht

BYD SEAL AWD Performance model (MY24) 1,199,000 baht

What's the difference between the MY's 23 & 24?

As far as I can tell there is no difference...just a different import batch I think.

Even at 299k I wouldn't touch Neta with a bargepole.

On facebook they posted screenshots of second hand Neta V in china, all sell around 60 - 80 kBaht. So there is still a lot of room for discounted netas. 300k for a car  without warranty, spare parts and service points but with a history of failures in all components ...  not sure how many they will sell at this price

That calls for a chart, to see how deep the EV madness is 🍿 🍿 🍿 🍿

I’m in the process of buying a BYD sealion 6, so a PHEV.

As part of the deal I am being given a free home charger and installation. BUT, the BYD guy says I need a special cable to run from my fuse box to my charger and for a special stand for the charger to fix to. The latter because it won’t be fixed to a wall.

So:

1. having googled, it seems that I DO need a special cable to handle the continuous power load. Fair enough. But does anyone know if the BYD people supply said cable at a significant mark up? Or is their pricing pretty competitive?

2. Does anyone know if their special stand is anything, well, special? I haven’t seen one in real life but from the picture it looks like plastic!

3. Just generally, do BYD use the charger installation exercise as a price gouging opportunity?

Grateful for any insights on the above

I got a free BYD Charger and installation when I purchased my Seal in 2023. BYD came and did a site survey and they provided a cable, from memory I think the first 10m was free.  I did ask how much per m for longer and I remember thinking it sounded reasonable. As for what they quoted me, that I don't remember.

Question 3 "do BYD use the charger installation exercise as a price gouging opportunity?" - I don't think so, I think they are just covering their costs

Based on my experience in the BYD wall charger installation (done by ENSUS which had the BYD contract) I didn't see any price gouging...pricing seemed fair on the invoice which was free for me as it came with my BYD Atto....but they did tell me in advance if I need extra wire beyond the free 15 meters worth (i.e., from main circuit panel to charger)  that it would cost X-amount per meter...my install didn't end-up requiring any extra wire beyond the free 15 meters.   And all wire remained within/on  walls/ceiling; no underground wire.

Now since it sounds like part of your cable run might be underground to your charger on a stand then that means it will probably have to be "NYY-G" wire which is typically what required for underground wire....it's more expensive than wire used within buildings/not buried.     NYY wire insulation is much more resistance to water and chemicals in the ground than regular wire used "within" buildings/walls/ceilings.

From your main circuit panel to a 32A/7KW charger the required wire size in 10mm2.    Nothing really special about the stand...it's like the stand in Bandersnatch picture, but it wouldn't surprise me if the installer is not also talking about an enclosure box to go on the stand for added security and environmental protection.

Now if the outdoor wire is staying above ground the installer might be talking "THWN" wire which is often used as "service drops" from the power lines down to the electric meter....it's tough wire...withstands rain, shine, bad weather, etc.

The installer should be able to easily/quickly give you an estimated price of "parts and labor"....and give you more "specifics" on the "wire type" he's talking about.

I'm assuming in the middle of the chart that the 2,013  registration is for Jan 2024 reflecting end of 2023 sales/promotions finally getting registered in Jan 2024.   If correct it appears starting in early 2024 Neta fortunes turned south quickly with only 216 registrations in Feb 2024.

Made "some" recovery thru 2024 but really didn't approach the much better sales year of 2023 with registrations only reaching 985 in Jan 2025 from end of 2024 sales/promotions.

And then registrations fell to 288 in Feb 2025 and are trending downwards since a lot of bad news about Neta's financial problems started hitting the Chinese and Thai media.

When I see a Neta on the road now I feel kinda sorry for the owner as the owner is surely worried if his/her Neta is going to lose support and more value in the near future.  Based on what I reading in newspapers quite a few Neta owners have their vehicles in a shop awaiting parts/repair/warranty support that may or may not come any time soon although Neta is saying it's new Parts Distribution Center in Nakhon Pathom will help the situation.

Below 9 June 2025 Bangkok Post news article gives a good summary of Neta and its owners current situation along with the overall EV industry/market in Thailand.
