Electric Vehicles in Thailand

Featured Replies

Here is an interesting fact of having a REEV in Thailand.

I wanted to compare the cost per 100 KM of:

  • Pure EV car Charging at PTT at 7.9B

  • Pure EV car Charging at Home at 4.4B

  • REEV car with Gasoline price at 37Baht

  • Hybrid HRV (just for the comparison)

  • A diesel PPV (fortuner legender 2.8)

So picking these cars as example and using Gemini Pro for the logic and calculations, I got these values for the cost of 100km :

BYD Atto 3 (Home @4.4Baht) (13.5 kWh) => 60 THB

BYD Atto 3 (PTT @7.9Baht) (13.5 kWh) => 107 THB

Geely Starray EM-i (3.8-4.3 L) => 140 - 160 THB

Nissan Kicks (4.3-4.8 L) => 160 - 180 THB

Honda HR-V e:HEV (3.9-4.3 L) => 144 - 160 THB

Toyota Fortuner 2.8 Diesel (1GD-FTV, 9L) => 300 THB

I even added a diesel on the list just for the Kicks of it :D

    There's no point arguing with these anti-EV people, even when you educate them over their mistakes, they just repeat their baseless opinions somewhere else.  Frankly, it's tiresome.   I can'

    Your assumption Thailand will follow, is I believe, false.   Two completely separate markets with separate circumstances.   What kickstarted the EV revolution here was BYD & GW

Don't forget most REEVs can use E20 which is currently about 5 baht cheaper than Gasohol 95 (E10).

The interesting thing about Gasohol mixes, is they have a lower calorific value, so you have to correct for that in the cost.

cuiros to see the price of the updated sealion 7 tomorrow

Isn't the more common phrase 'ladyboy' in the LOS........lol

But I can forgive Denza that slip - it appears they are the first brand to bring in a fully fledged China spec car.......... with LIDAR! and H-NOA (Highway Navigation on Autopilot)2026-08-20_21-11-11.jpg

I suspect “rear view “ and “shemale” might be related.

I wonder how big the sensor of the shemale’s rear view is. Should I be jealous?

Yes I prefer pure petrol but the government taxes it heavily and subsidises E20 now.

All Gasohol 95 and 91 users are especially being fleeced to subsidise dirty diesel and LPG through the Oil Fuel Fund.

E20 currently offers the lowest cost per unit of energy, followed closely by the two E10 grades.

• Pure gasoline is the most expensive on an energy basis (roughly 30–33% more costly per MJ than E20).

• E85 looks cheap per litre but loses much of its advantage once lower energy content is factored in; it is only practical in flex-fuel vehicles (FFVs) and typically yields 25–30% worse fuel economy.
