Yet western traffic fines are 30x higher.

That is of course daylight robbery, although the money does end up in the public coffers, while here the numbers might be lower amounts, but it is blatant robbery, with the money going into the cops pockets, with the only moot point being if they have genuine ID or dodgy.

The report might have gone into more detail about how to tell the difference between a fake and a genuine ID. Does the fake badge have Keystone or it for example?

so why would they give money to fake police ? - that is a question that needs answered

Because on a mobile app the victims have been persuaded that they are dealing with real RTP, not phone scammers.  Read the link.

Some posters need to read the link.  This is not about real police officers being protected as not being scammers, it's about phone scammers convincing victims that they are real police officers.

Maybe 30x more higher fines would stop 30x more higher deaths on the road ? Sounds a fair trade to me

Distinctly lacking in "Thainess" though...

I think you're missing the point.  People are having a little joke about Thai police based on what is written in the post.

Where I live

How much is a fine for using your phone while driving WA?

If you touch your device while driving to do anything to start, end or change your navigation, even when secured in a mounting, you will receive a $1000 fine and 4 demerit points.

I think you're missing the point, posters are having a dig at real police officers who are not involved in the scams reported here.

A number of derogatotory defamatory remarks and responses removed.

Whether they're involved in the scam in question is irrelevant.
