schoolies Posted May 4, 2022 Posted May 4, 2022 I would like to get a 10-12kW solar panel installation (monoPERC panels), an inverter that handles battery storage and a battery storage system for my home. Can anyone recommend an installation company? I would be most grateful. Help me to save the planet, thanks in anticipation.
MJCM Posted May 4, 2022 Posted May 4, 2022 I wish you the best of luck! One advice I can give you, get someone close to the install location so if there is any problem it won't take days/weeks/months for them to respond in case of a problem!!
dontpanic Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Give Christian a try at Chaweewan group solar https://solarthailand.biz/ they seem to be quite popular. He's got a Facebook group where they discus all things solar too. 1
schoolies Posted September 30, 2022 Author Posted September 30, 2022 Used Kunini solar in the end, professional, polite, helpful and good value. Would recommend to anyone. I have a 10Kw system, that's battery ready and an inverter with a 10 year warranty. ROI will take 9 years but on the plus side my electricity bills are 42% lower per month. 2
KhunLA Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Agree with the 'local' installer, in case of oops. Very happy with ours, but based in Hua Hin. Actually at Pattaya now, as I await my 2nd ESS to be installed. Hindsight on our system, we have an 8kW inverter, and would suggest two 5kW inverters instead of one 10kW. Again, JIC, and if PEA approved, (ours is not) maybe some decade in the future, they'll actually start paying for feed in to the grid.

Why not show and tell on your system, others may send business in the direction of your installer? "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

I really don't need, so no prob. We barely use the 1 AC in the bedroom overnight. Won't really need until sun makes an appearance in early AM or hangs out late afternoon. Should be installed this week. After rainy season, I'll need for 1 hour before sunset, a bit overnight, and 2 hours in the morning, as then I'll need to run the ACs. Using 6kW now, so 6 or 8 more will come in handy. ESS hasn't really gone below 35% / 3.5kW, was the pre-set alarm, I think. Only gone off twice, then used the grid for few minutes. We'll set up to use grid at 25%, but not charge up to more than 27%. That should really never kick in under any normal conditions, even as krappy as the weather's been the past 2 months. Glad we went with the 8kW & 18 panels, as now we seem to have more than enough solar energy. The few days the sun did show up, and we fed the grid, it produced 50kW, and I really can't see us ever using more than 30kW a day. The inverter ACs really don't draw much, once room cooled down. If ever needing to test a system, the past 2 months has be it. Really showed how little we need during rainy season vs how much is available. Hope I feel the same way next March & April ... ???? 4
