Dear Friends,

Are you a hippie of the first order?

I am talking about the hippies who may have first arrived here in Thailand in 1967.

I am talking about A Day in The Life.

I am talking about, If 6 was 9.  And I'm just asking about, White-collared conservatives flashing down the street.

I am asking about, if all the Hippies, cut off all their hair.....Do I care?  I don't care.

Thailand has changed from those glorious days.

And, these days, i just stay by myself, and I grow my bananas, because....

After living the Hippie Life, any other life is just too blah-blah, blaze, if you know what I mean.

Dig?

Wave on.

Wave on!

Wish I could return to a day in the life, when atmospheric CO2 was about 300 PPM, and life was happy, all the time.

What about you?

Regards,

Glob

Note:  Love you, my friends. .....

I've got my own life to live
I'm the one that's going to have to die
When it's time for me to die
So let me live my life
The way I want to, yeah.

Take care...!

Soon, the Moon will turn a fire red.

Soon, the Amazon forests will catch on fire.

Soon, the corals of reefs around the world will be bleached to death.

Soon the phytoplankton will begin to die.

Maybe the krill will die, too, and then this will mean the end of the whales.

Soon, the cryosphere will be melted down to a pitiful state from what it once was.

The glaciers on the Himalayas will be reduced to no more than what you might put in your home refrigerator.

Soon, you and I will become just a shell of our original selves...

And we will become Voodoo Children in a land which we no longer recognize.

Yet, no matter what might happen, such as this...

ThaiVisa will still survive.

And, this is enough for me.

Thank heaven for Seven and ThaiVisa, baby....

You better believe it, just because, these days, you got nothing else.

Now if 6 turned out to be 9
I don't mind, I don't mind
Alright, if all the hippies cut off all their hair
I don't care, I don't care...

Dig, 'cos I got my own world to live through
And I ain't gonna copy you

Sing on, Brother.

Play on, Drummer.

Let's just continue to pretend that the Exponential Function of Economic growth will never have any negative impact on Humanity....

Looks good.

Everybody is getting rich.

Nothing could go wrong with a curve such as this.

Well, you finally said something I can agree with, though I'd delete the last word to be completely correct. I live in a world full of BS.

I've never met a real hippy, or even a pretend hippy. I put them in the same category as unicorns and fairies.

Didn't the 60's ones all sell out and become stockbrokers or suchlike?

Like Carole sang- it's too late.

It's waaaay too late for humanity IMO. We've <deleted> in the nest for too long and we'll be gone soon enough, baby.

Maybe those hippies had the answer, but they got lost in the dope haze and they are already long gone.

If you think happiness is linked to atmospheric CO2 you've been smokin' too many hippie ciggies.

We in the west lived in a golden age of humanity when we had it all, but that was when world population was 3 billion people and it's gone like frost in the sunlight.

True words, but it just changed to be like our countries that we don't want to live in anymore.

I am not a complete expert on hippies.

When Hendrix was alive, I was always aspiring to be a white-collar conservative, flashing down the street, with an academic degree, but completely unlike that other PhD, Timothy Leary.

Never was I a hippie, baby.

I always loved the Main Line upper crust, toed the line, and envied homes like you might find in Gladwyne, PA., those of my friends.  Never was I a hippie, man.

Day in Life doesn't fit w/hippie.

But yea, still here, except I got a haircut and don't do, can't find any chemicals to expand my mind any further, though it doesn't need it.

I am not a hippie myself, I predate them.

There does seem to be a few in my condo. Caftans, sandals, long thinning hair and straggly beards. For non-conformists, they do look very much alike.

LOL.

Given the oft stated desire of the young to reject the world of their parents and to be individuals, is it strange that blue jeans, the very essence of corporate capitalism became their badge of tribalism?

Have you ever asked them if they passed The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test?

Stay clear of hippies, and pseudo-hippies, is my advice.

Hippies and backpackers are not the same, but only look the same, after 50 years.

Still, neither are to my liking.

At least, Timothy Leary had a degree, a PhD, which he thought to be 6, but turned out to be 9.

FURTHER, My Friends.

Stream of Consciousness is not my thing. Kesey wrote one good book, and maybe more, but, unlikely.

In the background, you can see SUNOCO.

What is that?

The Sun Oil Company.

Even Hippies need petroleum products.

The hippie lifestyle, as it was, back then, was full of hypocrisy and free love.

As a celibate and also as an honest person, I am against both.

Leave it to Gamma & Thaibeachlovers to hog the thread. It's all a load of rubbish.

Feel free to not click on it in future then.

Feel free to not be concerned about what other members click on.

No such thing as free love, there is always a cost to be paid by someone. Not necessarily in cash.

Except when married, it's all been free, even here, except that 1st time playing tourist, back in 1999.

I know there are some guys on this forum that claim their wives support them, and provide sex on a daily basis, because the guys are so hansum. I treat those claims with the same seriousness I accord to a politician's promises during an election campaign.
