New Zealand Visa Only For 2 Months

Recommended Posts

Ok just been back to the LOS came here with a 60 day visa. The cost was in NZ $80 = 2000 baht. Then I had to go when in Bangkok for 30 day extension another approx 1800 baht at Thai Immagration.

NZ Thai consulate (Auckland) said that is the only visa you can get from them they dont do a 90 day one.

Any one had the same problems?

I am comming back in November for an other 3 months.

This will be my 5th trip since Sept last year.

(1) 12 days

(2) 30 days

(3) 30 days

(4) 90 days

The 12 and 30 days are free visa any one can get them.

It is not really the money thing, it is just I see so much info on here re 90 days but i just dont seem to be able to get them.

Constructive info would be helpfull and not all about how lucky we are to be from an other country (puts hand over his mouth) and wears steal helmet for incoming replies.

:o

New Zealand used to have a special relationship with Thailand with both countries not requiring visas for tourist trips of up to 90 days. As NZ decided to end that practice for Thailand it has also ended for you. You now can apply for and receive the same 60 day tourist visa other countries receive. This visa can be extended to 90 days. When you see "90 day visa" it is in relation to other classes of visa.

Yes, the only kind of Visas (generally) you get 90 days from the get go with are Non-imm ones (which I know Auckland do). You may be entitled to one (married to a Thai? business etc.?).

Alternatively if you don't like paying the 1,900 for the extra 30 days, it actually works out cheaper (well without the Visa run cost anyway) to get a double entry and thus get two lots of 60 days (without extending!). You'll probably save all of 500 Baht or so doing it this way!
