George W Bush: I would ban the sales of guns to protect our kids

I guess that the hard-wired romance and championing of all things militarism/soldiering/war/empire doesn't play a part within the deeply psychotic culture.

Anyone did fact check this tweet?

The tweet is there, but doubt if by him, as don't even think he has a T account.  FB & IG yes, got sell them books, but Tw, doubtful.

A person who has had armed security most of his life, wants to take that right away from others.

No hypocrisy there.

That is a fair call.

But these assault weapons must be stopped.

Change is needed.

I can not recall the last time a Texas Govenor was shot.

The American solution is more weapons!

I can.

If the W tweet is genuine, well, think of it this way: he is no longer a previous president's idiot son, he is now a wise elder statesman.  Being out of active politics now, and having somewhat admitted to making a pig's breakfast of Iraq, he is now beyond having to kiss up to the NRA and other gun lobby forces.  The underlying human being emerges -- lets see if he breaks out in tears like McNamara.

I would also think his self-esteem was bolstered by what a disaster Jeb! (who, during W's administration was referred to as the smarter brother) turned out to be in the 2015-16 campaign.
