anchadian
Possible scrapping of the Thailand Pass. I very much doubt it. This has given the TP a new lease of life. Thailand Pass to be used in Monkeypox screening at airports with new RT-PCR test for the disease "Thai authorities are ramping up a screening process for the Monkeypox disease in respect of foreign tourists using an RT-PCR test which is in production together with incoming passenger declarations which will be coordinated through the country’s Thailand Pass online registration regime for foreign travellers. Visitors from Spain, the United Kingdom and Portugal are particularly to be examined by officials at the Ministry of Public Health in response to advice from the World Health Organisation (WHO) to enhance screening and surveillance against any possible threat posed by a new variation of the disease which, in the last week, has been detected in up to 20 countries where it was never endemic before." https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2022/05/26/thailand-pass-used-in-monkeypox-screening/
The Hammer2021
Good to hear the authorities here are being proactive in preventing the spread of this disease
2long
In 2023 they will still have the Thailand Pass, but with a PCR test for alcoholism, or Syphilis, and every year after that... something new to keep their silly emergency decree and tabs on every foreigner who steps through the door. Except that fewer and fewer will be doing that! RIP LOS.

sqwakvfr
How about just a full blown medical exam upon arrival at the nearest private hospital in BKK. I can just imagine full blood, urine, X-ray and an MRI package for just under 19,999 Baht(what a bargain for one to have peace of mind and Welcome to Thailand). daveAustin
They’re better off focusing on deadly local diseases, like dengue and malaria, than exotic one-in-a-million nothings that have come and gone undetected since time immemorial! Autocratic ott control. Yuck! ????
