Daly News Cap: Neighbor's head bashed in

Daily News reported on a gruesome murder in the province of Nong Bua Lamphu in the north east of Thailand yesterday.

A man was attacked axe blows to the head as he slept at a friend's house. He was sleeping off a hangover from a rocket festival event.

Police captain Chatchawin Srikaewlor of the Muang Nong Bua Lamphu police was called to the village of Ban Khok Klang in Pa Mai Ngam sub-district by Thawat the phu yai ban (a village leader).

He told them there had been a murder at the home of Preecha Khankhwa by a man who lived 50 meters away.

Found covered in blood on a bed downstairs at a two story house was 53 year old Jirasak "Ham" Deelert. He had been hit with a heavy object.

Precha said that Jirasak had asked to rest there to sleep off a hangover from a Bang Fai (rocket festival) event that he had attended.

Precha had been sleeping close by his friend and was awoken by the sound of two thumps and saw the assailant whom he knew exiting the property holding an axe. Jirasak was already dead.

He said the pair had been involved in a land dispute in the village and that after a local judgement was issued the pair still had differences that frequently resulted in arguments when drinking was involved.

Preecha added that he believed the feud flared up again at the Bang Fai event.

Provincial police found the assailant - a man called Somkhuan Srijanthep, aged about 53 - sleeping in an old mill 500 meters away.

He showed police where he hid the murder weapon.

He admitted everything and was taken away.

Looking at five years.

Life is cheap here unless you are one of the chosen few.

I was told a long time ago that a good high strong fence is more important than the land itself. As every year without one you may lose little by little.

By the stream????  not on your Nellie!!!

Was in a dispute with a french neighbour years ago, over a wall (our wall) ended up going to the government where there was a meeting chaired by them, they stated their version, we stated ours, they kept interupting, got annoyed, stood up, said something, thai government then said, no need to worry, please sit down, sat down, they proceeded to tell him to knock the roof of his garage down which was overhanging our garden, and we then built the wall up.

No more annoying french man.

Remember many road rage cases going back over 30 years.

Not true. When they are <deleted> or drugged up some become mentally unstable. Loss of face is high on the agenda.
