The Hammer2021
Why do people on this forum care so much about these announcements? How does it affect their lives? Or is it just fodder for the permanently outraged at at Thailand and all things Thai? Why is a minor comment regarding a potential income of any importance to people on this forum? The projection might be right or it might be wrong. The emphasis is on the word 'could'. It's a speculative figure and really is nothing for forum members to get upset about. One would think by now, having expressed outrage and dismay repeatedly about such pronouncments it ceases to be worth mentioning. Or am I missing something?

The reality is governed by the value of the £ & $ against the Baht. It's not 75 Baht to a £ anymore. So there must be some truth in their figures.

Popular Post spidermike007
Could is the key word here. But, it will not. Because of masks, because of the dumb Thailand pass, because the morons in power just absolutely refuse to let covid go, even though we saw the cases drop yet again yesterday. They might as well use the new motto. "Come visit the land of cowards, where there are masks as far as the eye can see". Even outdoors. Even on motorbikes! Masks, and more masks everywhere. A recipe for a great vacation. Masks and reduced nightlife. Come and have some fun! Thailand is unique. We are one of the few nations left that asks you to wear a mask everywhere you go. And though we already said masks would be scrapped in two weeks, we had a one day spike, and since we are neither courageous nor do we practice common sense, we will keep wearing them for a year or more. Even outdoors. Even on the beach. I for one, will not be wearing a mask for much longer. This is getting ridiculous. Defy stupidity and oppression! Embrace science and common sense. Thailand is likely one of the last remaining countries in the world to require this. It is juvenile. It is oppressive. It is sheer denial of science. Especially mask use outdoors. It is likely a way to keep the people afraid, paranoid and prevent them from taking to the streets and expressing their extreme disappointment with the leadership here, who have failed them on nearly every level and are despised. Masks disappear and so does the emergency decree, and possibly Prayuth and his band of retrograde goons.

jethro69
And then I look at all the requirements to secure a visa and/or Thailand pass, and then I just thinking, you might do it next week.....and that goes on since the so promoted "re-opening" It´s easier nowadays to get a Thai into Schengen or elsewhere in the west than vice-versa. Utter nonsense, a Thai Pass is quickly and easily obtained..... most countries do not need a visa. The Thai Pass will likely soon be cancelled too. law ling
As I see it, just a government department talking-up the economy: struggling businesses may decide to stay open on the strength of such a marvelous projection, in the hope of good times being here very soon.
