What you say may be quite true, except I only pay cash at merchants. The debit card is for when I go shopping on Lazada.

Be careful there, my virtual online shopping debit card has been compromised.

The only place it’s registered with is Lazada, Apple and PayPal.

I keep my physical debit card number well away from online shopping. If anything happens you can adjust the daily limit on the banking website, cancel and order another. With a physical card it’s a little different.

Not a problem for me, Starbucks never gets my business. I suppose some people like to look trendy while drinking weak dishwater.

It says preferred, which to me says the store will still accept cash.

Unless it is something that I cannot get elsewhere, no sale.

A safer way to pay, BS. My loss of cash is limited to what I have in my pocket. If my card is skimmed, it's potentially the entire balance. With the language barrier that exists trying rectify said skimming, no thanks.

Majority in the pharmacy use the scan to pay their billabong with using the Line App to get any available discounts....only watched one old lady pay by cash and it took her a good 5 minutes to pull out the change from her purse....

The Starbucks in the same location is 100% cashless.

It's gonna bite alot of small business in the ass when they get stung having to pay taxes for the first time

Now that Don Mueang tollway has EasyPass I hardly use cash, even the maid (she's about 90) is happy with PromptPay.

have a maid 90? wow

No one would dare buy something online, until everyone did.

A good fraction of the military/social security refused direct deposit until it was mandated.

How many people refused to give up their checkbooks for debit cards?

Some people had an especially hard time giving up using travel agencies.

Some people still stay in hotels when in many places, Airbnb offers a better deal.

I know a few folks who still file their taxes the old fashion way.

I used to think ATM machines were the greatest thing since sliced bread.  Now, it's cashless payments.
