The Ministry of Public Health has decided to lower the COVID-19 alert, from Level 3 to Level 2, throughout the country, in line with declining new infections, serious cases and fatalities.

Government House spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana before the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) meeting on Friday still spoke of the need to be vigilant and for the public to continue wearing face masks where appropriate.

Thai gov to remove mask mandates for outdoors, scrap Thailand Pass in July

According to the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on Friday, Thailand Pass will be cancelled, face masks will be “recommended” for closed and crowded areas, and entertainment venues will be able to operate normally starting on July 1.

‘Thailand Pass’ registration scheme to be lifted from 1 July 2022

At the point of entry into Thailand, travellers will only need to show proof of either a certificate of vaccination or a negative RT-PCR or professional ATK test result within 72 hours of travel.

Bangkok – Thailand’s Centre of COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) today approved the removal of the Thailand Pass registration scheme and an US$10,000 health insurance requirement for foreign visitors, effective 1 July, 2022. Both requirements were initially removed for Thai nationals from 1 June, 2022.
