BANGKOK, July 4 (TNA) – The local COVID-19 situation raises concerns as health authorities expect new cases will be rising in the next 10 weeks.

Dr Chakkarat Pittayawonganon, director of the epidemiology division at the Department of Disease Control, said COVID-19 patients with lung inflammation rose in number in the past week while the number of patients admitted to hospital was stable.

New fatalities resulting from COVID-19 were mostly senior citizens and people with chronic illnesses and they were unvaccinated, he said.

create fear to rule.......... Vaccines, don't work to prevent the virus only prevent to be less sick... Maybe we have to live with it for several years until there is a real vaccine

Just like influenza we will be living with it for the rest of our lives.  Eventually it will become just part of the norm, like Flu, and not be thought about much.

Influenza kills around 500,000 people a year and no one gives it a thought really.  Just like influenza vaccines the covid vaccine will probobly become a mixture of 3 or 4 strains thought to be most prevalant at the time.

Well it follows that if you remove all restrictions to increase tourist revenue in the high season you will get super spreaders bringing in the latest variant. Somebody recommend me for a Nobel prize?

Experienced 3 recent UK arrivals all of which I had to remind to wear masks!
