July 5, 20224 yr Popular Post Ordering food online has its place..Heck I use Grab sometimes....But many people in our condo have taken online food ordering to a whole new level... When I first moved to Centric Sea condo I would see 7-11 delivering here all the time...The first 300-400 times I saw this I did not think much about it, but then I started to wonder why I was seeing so many 7-11 deliveries every day (95% small orders) when there was a 7-11 one block away from the condo? The only conclusion I could come to was, many people were just too lazy to walk one block to shop at the 7-11.......Ok there maybe a few people who can't walk one block, but I bet not many.... And to prove my point....Here is a picture of the condo and 7-11.... And see the red arrow......That is the driveway leading into the condo from the street..

July 5, 20224 yr We seem to order online in Krung Thep more than anywhere else, during or after rush hour. Usually settled in after out & about all day, and usually had main meal earlier. Heavy snacking in the room if something isn't right outside the hotel. Even do it locally (Prachuap KK), rare, when feeling lazing. Thinking back, not a whole lot different when in my 20's, as how many times have you had pizza delivered in days past. At least twice a month for me when we all were sitting around sipping a few. Too easy & no DUI.
July 5, 20224 yr Popular Post Many people are doing work and study from home during covid (and would prefer to have contact with one rather than a dozen people) and have no free time during the workday for shopping?

July 5, 20224 yr Popular Post What about nosy people? Are there a lot of nosy people in your apartment complex? You know, people who don't know when something is "nunya"?

When the 7-11 delivery people are in the lobby many times every day you cant help but see them..... Maybe you walk through your lobby with your eyes closed? I don't know? But I prefer to keep my eyes open.......There is nothing looky loo about it....

July 5, 20224 yr Popular Post @ OP - accept that some people have a different life to you. I am usually busy with work so if I can save myself 20 minutes by ordering a 7/11 delivery I will do so...... ..... Time is money! It's not always a question of laziness.

Although, if your local 7-11 had dedicated delivery person, maybe having their cell phone number & a tip, would get better results than their app. Or even the local motocy guy on the corner. Someone lazier than me, that's reassuring ????
July 5, 20224 yr This increased during the pandemic for good reasons and now the habit persists. I get many many deliveries but not from my nearby convenience store which I do walk to.
July 5, 20224 yr If going by 'boomer's' photo of condos, with that many units, I'd expect to see a constant flow of delivery people in the lobby.
July 5, 20224 yr Popular Post I'll start ordering food through Grab when I can't walk or ride a scooter anymore. I knew an American in Chiang Mai who would order nothing but Maccas and KFC via Grab. He died when his entire digestive system shut down, and the food stopped moving.

July 5, 20224 yr I personally do not like that 7-11 and probably would not go there. Now, I would however take a walk down the block to Soi 6 for an afternooner. Edited July 5, 20224 yr by bkk6060
