IMO, the photos of the mid-range stuff on the BKK Kush website looks better than what you posted. A lot of the BKK Kush stuff has some visible trichomes and the photos you posted don't. 
 

At the end of the day, all this mid-grade stuff probably averages around 13%-15% THC. So it probably doesn't matter too much which you buy. It's a lot better than brick, but it isn't going to get you super high. Some will have better terpenes than others, and won't be as harsh when you smoke/vape it. That's probably the main difference between all these strains. For the price it's all going to be greenhouse grown, but not indoor and in a controlled environment. 
 

I prefer stuff that isn't so dry, but this stuff appears to be pretty dry in the photos that you posted. The dryer stuff perhaps burns more easily and more smoothly, but the dryness also adds to causing more harshness on the throat, which I don't like. 
 

TBH, a lot of this 100-130 Baht Khanom farm stuff doesn't look so great in the photos either. If I were to compare it to the mid-grade 20-25 Baht stuff, then I would say it looks to be a bit higher quality, but it doesn't really look like 25%+ THC level weed that BKK Kush sells for 100-130 Baht. So I would say the Khanom stuff appears overpriced IMHO.

Presumably most growers are local. And I wish for all of them to be successful from their hard efforts. But as a consumer we are also interested in getting the best product we can for our money. I have had  a few, they have all been good, End Game and Oreo I remember being good.

My Thai friend in Chonburi has some high quality products for sale but limited quantities & only four strains.

 

Grown indoors with LED lights, A/C, dehumidifier, nutrients etc.  Has been recently harvested, dried & cured.  

 

90 baht per gram for 10 grams = 900 baht + 50 baht delivery = 950 baht total delivered for 10 grams of high quality products.

I think they are more for protecting the buds from contaminants on fingers.

I got a few of the many 20-25 Baht mid-grade strains from Bangkok Kush. They all have nice terps and flavor. THC level is middle of the range on most of them, but the White Wedding strain to me feels as strong as many of the exotic level strains that sell for 120-130 Baht a gram. I was really surprised how good it is. And I see they have it on sale now for 10 Baht a gram:

You must be trolling. Anyone who smokes a gram of anything and barely gets a buzz is probably doing something wrong. Even back in the 80s, when most of the weed was that treacherous brick weed from Mexico and Columbia, and had much lower THC levels than it does now, a whole gram back then still got you adequately buzzed.

Dont know about that, I smoked some ditch weed back then (and here) that only gave you a headache.

 

The price of decent smokeable weed here in Cambodia is less than $2 a gram.

We are not talking about brick weed or ditch weed here. That shop only sells buds, it's all very fresh and they have various degrees of quality and pricing ranging from ฿10 per gram up to about ฿130 per gram, depending on the strain. Try some of it and then you can judge for yourself.

The only ditch weed I ever see in Thailand is on the vendor tables on the street. Never had any bad weed myself since it was decriminalized.

 

The weed scene is great here in Siem Reap. Cheaper than Thailand, obviously because overhead is lower.

I haven't seen any bad stuff in Thailand either since it was decriminalized. Now that it's no longer contraband, it doesn't have to be grown sub-par situations where the plants struggle to grow properly.

 

There is even very little of that low-grade Thai brick weed around anymore because people are selling bud weed for such low prices. It is hard to imagine there would even be a market for that really bunk stuff anymore.
 

Those street vendor tables you are talking about are probably just illegal migrant scammers that are trying to fleece the tourists late at night.

You may need a bit more of the lower price stuff to get you as high as the higher price stuff. But it is generally 1/10 the cost. So if you're on a budget, it makes a lot more sense.

Now mind you, I havent been down to Khao San in 6 months but I was amazed at the crap on the tables. Same as when I was last in Silom and Sukhumvit (June), although there was a Nepalese-Myanmar dude on the corner of 3/1 that back last winter, had some great Moon Rocks. Unfortunately he had cop trouble so he faded out.

 

The stuff I smoke here at $2 a gram is 450 baht there.  I remember earlier this year where we were smoking diamond encrusted buds here at $20 a gram and it was 3000B over there.

 

The only problem here is the customer base. Weed is limited to westerners and locals, because its not legal you dont have an Asian tourist market like the shops in Bangkok. Many of the weed smoking westerners are, to be kind, the type of expat who cant get into Thailand or cant afford it, so the suppliers cant really stock up on a kilo of high grade that would require a price of $20 a gram. Thats a slow seller when you have jokers everywhere selling bags of $5 a gram weed. Hell I buy fab kief at $10 a gram.

 

The other problem is variety, even the big guys here dont menu 1/3 of what I see from the Thai menus. Simple economics.

I haven't been to Khao San in well over 10 years, so I can't comment on what goes on down there. 

 

Most of those street hustlers that you see late at night on Sukhumvit are either Nepalese (as you said) or Pakistani I believe. Generally, they can't be trusted. 

 

I think there is still a vendor on the corner of Soi 3/1. At least there was the last time I walked by, which was within the last few weeks. Don't know where he's from or what he's selling as I didn't stop to look. In general, I don't buy anything at all in that area anyway. I just try take a bit of notice of things as I'm walking by.

 

It is all just very overpriced (and often very underwhelming) in my opinion and targeted at the tourists. What they sell in the high-end shops down there for 500-700 Baht per gram can easily be gotten for well under 100 Baht per gram if you know where to go to outside the city center. 

 

But if I were you, and you're going to be staying in that area for a short period of time, then I would order a bunch of stuff online from Bangkok Kush. Order some of his lower 20 Baht priced stuff and some of his higher priced 130 Baht stuff and then compare. Some of it is very good. He has pictures of it all on his website and he can send it to your hotel via EMS and then you'll have it within 24 hours. You could even order it before you come over so that it's waiting for you at your hotel when you arrive. You can also go to his shop if you want (as somebody posted earlier in this thread) to pick and choose yourself. But I think it would be about an hour way each in a taxi to get there and back from the city center. So ordering online seems like the better approach.

 

Thanks for the offer and I really don't know what's available over there in Cambodia. But I can't say that I am in any way disappointed with what is available over here. It really is a smorgasbord of hundreds of varieties, many of which have well over 25% THC. Can't really ask for anything more. 

 

That green haired kid from the UK even visited a bunch of weed shops in Sukhumvit a year ago and tested the THC levels and most of them were either spot on with what the shops were claiming and/or were at least within the margin of error. So I would say that there is lots of good weed in Thailand that has high levels of THC and in general it seems that most vendors are not overstating what they are selling. 
 

 

If I were to buy anything in Sukhumvit, and to pay those ridiculously high prices, then I think I might try and go to that Royal Queens Seeds dispensary at the Asoke intersection. I have never been there, but I've heard good things about it.
