Siam Rath reported that Thai Muslims in Satun, southern Thailand, are against the liberalization of marijuana.

They said it is against their religious beliefs, will damage youth and society.

They also reiterated they are against other freedoms like drinking alcohol and same sex marriage. They don't want to see any more liberalization there either.

They don't like it and they think it's wrong.

They have arranged for 242 vinyl signs to go up at mosques telling their faithful to refrain.

However, the Islamic Committee of Satul (their spelling) okayed medicinal use of weed if it was really necessary.

People are going to use it, drink it or do it anyway.  Creating laws that make it illegal will not help the situation at all.

nobody is forcing you to do any of it, it is called freedom of choice, just as well you are not running Thailand - very few freedoms would be left, keep your religion to yourself

5% of the population who do not agree with drinking alcohol, eating pork, sexual freedom, homosexuality, transgenders and who mostly want to keep the women covered up in restrictive clothing of various sorts are against other people having the freedom to use cannabis, what a shocker! They are quite liberal in one aspect of course- men having the right to marry up to 4 wife's while denying that to women of course. These people's demands should always be totally ignored, we don't care what they think or feel offended by.

They never seem to complain about the thousands of killings in their southern insurgency over the past 20 years (jihad) do they.

But?
I'm not Muslim.  I don't attempt to force my religious beliefs on those who embrace Islam.  So I don't expect those who embrace Islam to force their ideology on non-Muslims.

Respect is a two-way street.

Aisha's Age

This question has already been adequately answered here and here. In sum, if the Islamic tradition is to be trusted at all, she was six years old when Muhammad married her and nine years old when Muhammad consummated the marriage.

Terrorism , sharia law , killing of infidels and issuing fatwahs all are ok by this group of ppl, They should all head off and live in the desert where they will fit right in .

After 'thighing' the child for 3 years, which was having sex between her legs. It's all in Bukkhari, the second most revered book next to the Quran.

The Crusades initially were in response to the Islamic incursion into Europe and latterly to attempt to recapture holy cities such as Jerusalem that were subsequently lost to the Muslims.

Thanks for the information.555. So were The Christians not trying to convert the Muslims to their belief, both of which I regard as a load of BS.

Since when did the Muslims become so concerned about the infidels I though we were all dammed anyway. At least let us enjoy lifes little pleasures before the hammer comes down.

No surprise this has turned into another Muslim-bashing thread.

1095 the first crusade was in response to 300 years of islamic expansion into mostly Christian lands by force. Iw was meant to free Jerusalem up for pilgrims and not to convert the heathens

It has, really?

All I see are a few true facts about the religion.

Where is the 'bashing' in telling the truth?

Muslims are making same problems everywhere in the world: China, Indonesia, Europe. What’s wrong with that people?

lol Gotta love em. Just so tolerant. Next...

When the words Muslims or Islam are used, these topics quickly derail off-topic.

The topic is not about jihadism, the insurgency or the bride of the Prophet Muhammad (swt), but simply about a group of concerned citizens that express their displeasure about certain topics. No more, no less.
