77kaoded Thai Caption: Illegal Cambodian workers in Sa Kaeo

77kaoded reported that military action was mounted against illegal Cambodian workers in Aranyaprathet and Taphraya districts of Sa Kaeo province.

The media said that several agencies were involved in the action to stop migrants crossing illegally in border areas and working illegally in Thailand.

A total of 39 people were caught for various infractions.

Many were on their way to work in Thanyaburi, Pathum Thani.

They were all tested for Covid and detained for additional questioning.

In stories reported in recent weeks the Thai authorities have said that large numbers of migrants are needed to work in the construction industry post pandemic.

Thais are not willing to do poorly paid jobs so foreign labor that will work for cheap is the norm.

Borders have started to open up but crossing illegally and avoiding paperwork is still a massive headache for the Thai authorities.
