Two shocked staffers were at the scene. One of them - Parichart - said that they were just about to close when a middle aged man dressed in jeans and blue shirt rushed into the store and threatened them with a gun. He was wearing a full face helmet. It all happened very fast and the staff were told to put gold in a black bag or they'd be shot. The man raced away on a red Yamaha Fino motorcycle with no plates. He got away with five baht weight in gold worth about 150,000 baht. Sanook further reported that the man was quite tall for a Thai - 170 - 180 cms and had a bad left leg and was limping. It is believed he had cased the area and was very familiar with the surroundings and staff routine.
