Asthma Inhalers - Can You Get High?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to get high from these things?

As a recovered drug addict, my body is sensitive to many drugs. Yesterday I took a puff and felt strange after it, a bit like an amphetamine rush.

I’m no medical expert but I take different inhalers for COPD for the past 5+ years and if I take one that I haven’t used for a while I do sometimes detect and experience for a very short period a feeling of a fast improvement in my breathing. I put it down to my body not used to that medication and after a couple of days I don’t experience it again.

No, i had a blue ventalin inhaler for a few years up to 22, never slightest bit high, it just instantaneously freed the lungs so could breath without wheezing. If you're sensitive etc who knows

You do not mention what type of inhaler.

Inhakers contwing salbutamol have a mild stimulant effect.

Steroid inhaler is unlikely to have this effect.

yeah they aren't being totally honest, may not be classed as addictive but you will definitely form a dependency, lungs start needing it to clear
