Constitutional Court Orders Prayut Suspended From Duties

BANGKOK (AP) — The Constitutional Court ruled Wednesday that Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha must suspend his active duties while the court decides whether he has overstayed his legal term in office.

It was not immediately announced who would assume his duties as acting prime minister. Under law, it would be Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan, who is ranked first among several deputies . He is a close political ally of Prayuth and part of the same military clique that that staged the 2014 coup that initially brought him to power.

Thai PM suspended from duty by Charter Court, Deputy Prawit becomes acting PM

After a unanimous vote to accept a petition from the opposition bloc in Parliament, seeking a Constitutional Court ruling on Prayut’s eight-year term in office and on a 5-4 majority vote, Prayut Chan-o-cha has been instructed to suspend his duties as the prime minister from today (Wednesday) until the court finally decides his fate.

It is expected that the Constitutional Court proceedings will be completed within one month, or by the end of September, during which time the cabinet will continue to perform its duties. Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan will serve as acting prime minister in the meantime.

I suggest he don't step on any "major" watch wearer's or his time will certainly be up.!

The clock is ticking and if the battery dies it is still correct twice a day.....unless it's an automatic and wound to tightly.....

Just a thought.

Surely by saying that his term is over the opposition are confirming he was a legit pm and had not taken the country in a coup which in effect is still in effect despite the "elections"?

Got a headache now!

Even if a fake PM and not elected he has acted fir 8 years and ergo his Timex is up.....
