Acting Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan today (Friday) declined to comment on speculation that a Cabinet reshuffle is in the cards under his watch.

“There is nothing to it,” said Prawit in his first encounter with journalists at the Government House after assuming the role of caretaker prime minister following the Constitutional Court’s order to suspend Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha from active duty.

Prawit was responding to questions about speculation that a cabinet reshuffle was possible in the near future.

I know I go on about this but who elected him, why is he an MP

Likely because of the typical nature of a parliamentary system wherein an MP can be elected either through single member constituency elections or through party lists - Prawit being elected in the latter. In accordance with the Constitution.

But as witnessed throughout world history, the mere participation in elections by the populace can be meaningless when an unelected minority controls the levers of the electoral outcomes, ie., as in communism, fascism, oligarchies and other forms of authoritarian ideologies.

Hopefully after Prayut is permanently ousted and the election see the rest turfed out too.

There might very good chance that the current crew won't win the election - I think we won't be rid of this crew for a while yet.

Speaking of which, when are the much fabled and anticipated elections scheduled? Or have they put those off for another couple of years as well?

Not that any of this dreamy and idealistic state of free, open and democratic elections will ever become a reality.

An organised and strong collective revolution is in order, dismantling the dominant paradigm for good.

Otherwise, all this talk of niceties and the possibilities of what can come is purely moot and fanciful.
