webfact
Picture: Thai Rath Thai Rath reported on a senior sergeant major with the Bang Plee police in Samut Prakan, central Thailand, who is getting some extra income by selling wiper blades by the side of the road. Somchai Khumsri can be found operating his modest service from the back of a pick-up truck on the Thepparat Road KM marker 19 inbound to Bangkok. He'll also check your old blades for you for nothing and if you need new ones they go for just 50 baht up to a hundred or so. Somchai said he found a niche in the market when having his own wiper blades changed and learned about the business bit by bit. Then he invested in stock. Now when he finishes his shift he uses his free time - of which he has plenty - to run the service that gets him 400-500 baht a day. He spends the money on things like gas, food and sweets for his children. When on his regular job Somchai is a regular patrolman in the investigative and crime prevention branch of the Bang Plee force. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-08-29 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post sqwakvfr
Can't blame him for doing this. In 1990 I was going to Alabama for Army Training and spent the night in New Orleans. I noticed a uniformed police officer sitting in front of the reception desk of the hotel after 600 PM. He told me in order to supplement his income he was working security at the hotel. I later found out the starting salary for a police officer in "The Big Easy" was between $18,000 to $21,000. Kudos to this Thai Police Officer for at least trying.

Popular Post Bert got kinky
Kudos to the good sergeant. As I live in Samutprakarn, I will look out for him when I need to change my wiper blades. I presume that the posters who do not agree with this policemen topping up his wages this way would prefer that he supplements his income by scamming farangs. 5

He probably does that as well as the RTP are not known for their professional integrity in general. Edited August 29, 2022 by Excel
Grusa
Since when is a Sergeant, or even a sergeant major, a "senior officer" in any mans' army?

So as he is doing this in daylight hours does he only work night shifts ? Still I'm sure his tax is all paid on his extra income as he is a member of the highly respected RTP.
