Well while we are hypothesising lets continue to the inevitable conclusion of the decisions we made in the first scenario,

 The police arrive examine the scene and ask for our statements  I confirm that I was forced to  take evasive action to avoid a kid . I knew full well I would kill the dogs , but really  there was no other way, IT was the dogs or the kid  and I think human life must come first   They believe me  praise me for my actions and all is good

Now its your turn, you tell them that to avoid hitting a group of dogs you  took evasive action , you knew full well you would kill the kid , but there was no other way , It was the dogs or the kid , and you thought  dogs were more important  They believe you too,  and are  also, to say the least "curious" as to why you feel like you do, Upon further Questioning you inform them that " you consider human life to be a cancer of the earth itself" Etc Etc !!!!  Handcuffs appear your legs are kicked from under you and you are physically restrained, a special ambulance arrives and an orderly administers a sedative ,"but but I've written a book" are the last words you speak before waking up in the padded room the name Icarus written on the chart hanging on the outside of the door  

You struggle in the straight jacket but its......futile

 

Sounds like a plausible scenario to me,  how do you see it playing out
