Pinot Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 I've got a $50000 sitting on the sidelines in the US. I plan on living here for the next ten years. The exchange rate is 36.5 Should I just take the win? I don't know what to do with it. It would be at Schwab in the US. Put it into a saving account at Kisikorn?
proton Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 spend most of it and beer and woman and just waste the rest. ????I'd buy gold with it from Hua Seng Henh 1
riclag Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Id keep most of it in a bank collecting close to 2 percent interest in the states. Bring over 10-15 k for spending while parking it here in a bank
EVENKEEL Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 If you want to bring it over some time, nows a good time. I was buying a new car and sent over 50K USD when it was 33.05 because it could have kept going down. 2
1FinickyOne Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Not a bad time as far as exchange rate... I think we will run over 37 by end of the year or maybe in a couple of weeks - but as you know, it can go either way... but a nice trend this year...
Chivas Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Somewhat comedy gold that some are only "suggesting" that yes it might be a good time to transfer USD At close to 37 you have to go back a long way to get to the same level 1
Maha Sarakham Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Strongly advise exchanging now if you intend to do so! 1
Chivas Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Highest rate (or lowest depending on your point of view) since September 2006 Good news for absolutely everyone no matter what your base currency is bar those remitting back home
timendres Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 The dollar could actually move higher over the next 6 to 12 months. So, maybe bring over $10,000 per month for the next 5 months. 1
soi3eddie Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Forget the exchange rate. I've got a bit more than $50,000 and would just love it to last me for 10 years in Thailand. Trouble is, with my lifestyle, I'd be lucky to last a single year. What's your secret for it lasting 10 years? Please share...
Berkshire Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 I sent over a decent chunk a month ago at 36.2 and thought I did great. Now it's over 38! I'll have to bring some more over soon.....which means it'll go to 40 shortly thereafter.

habuspasha Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 What is the best way of bringing it over? I've always done Wise transfers but is there a better way?
Maha Sarakham Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 I still do Wise, seems to work best for us.
