They were ambushed by probably at least two men who fired from an M-16 at least 4 or 5 times. Abdul Loh, 64, and his wife Sareeda, 63, were riddled with bullets. Maybe they were evil criminals? We don't know. It's unlikely to be a sectarian killing as they're Muslim names, unless they were informers. In the south the rebels either rob armouries or simply take down small ranger posts and take their weapons. Unless it was something left from the Vietnam war and smuggled into Thailand that particular rifle is not sold to the general public. Actually that is dirt cheap at 50,000 thb. Real M16s cost $25,000 to $35,000. in USA.
