Police from the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) seized fake lubricating oil, worth over a million baht, from a warehouse in Chaloem Phra Kiat district of Thailand’s central province of Saraburi today (Thursday).

Police found 20 tanks containing fake lubricant and many cans of different sizes bearing two popular brand names, some of which had already been filled.

Pol Maj-Gen Anan Nanasombat, commander of the CPPD, warned consumers to exercise caution when buying lubricating oil and to avoid cans which are not tightly sealed or cans with traces of external oil staining.

Is nothing sacred anymore....

rhetorical question.

It must cost these "counterfeiters" a lot of money to produce these fake products..  and if they're selling them 'just under' the price of the real thing to make their product appear more attractive, then they must have a very small profit margin.

I guess it takes a lot of money to make money.

I'm just curious as to how much it would cost them to produce a product that could 'pass' as Lubricant...  unless it is of course recycled lubricant.
