Auditor In Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I would like to know more about the audit works like in Thailand, as I have a strong interest in it.. How's the working hours like ?And the level of pressure of the job..

I'm pretty sure that auditor is an occupation prohibited to foreigners (but I'm no legal eagle) ... You can be manager of auditors, but you can't be one yourself.

Even if Cyberstar were wrong (and I don't think he is) I can't imagine a foreigner being an auditor in Thailand. I'm a CPA and I wouldn't even attempt to get a job as an auditor. Since records must be kept in Thai and accounting staff people are Thai both written and spoken Thai would be necessary. Also, Thai accounting standards are unique and government mandated, application of audit standards would be difficult for a non-Thai.

In addition, audit fees for small companies are too low to allow payment of an expat level salary. Only work for larger companies would be likely to pay enough, even if there were no Thais willing and able to do the work.

Put simply, I wouldn't expect to find any opportunities other than at the management level of a large, international firm.

Any of you have the details of an auditor i can use that isn't quoting silly prices?

My turnover is less than Bt200,000 per month - some months there are no invoices...
